About The Position

Decision Technologies seeks a Junior Computer Engineer to join our team in Austin, TX. The Junior Engineer, Computer supports technical and training teams providing training and software support to U.S. Navy Sailors on the Tactical Tomahawk Weapon Control System (TTWCS), a critical weapon system supporting our nation's defense. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with Navy combat systems, software development, and training technologies while supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD).

Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in software development, software engineering, computer engineering, systems engineering, or related technical fields.
  • Experience supporting software development, testing, integration, and maintenance activities.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and quality assurance practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a technical team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with programming languages such as Java, C++, C#, or Python through coursework, internships, personal projects, or professional experience.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, and web-based applications.
  • Experience using Linux operating systems and command-line tools.
  • Familiarity with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as Visual Studio, Eclipse, or IntelliJ.
  • Exposure to relational databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
  • Understanding of software testing and quality assurance practices.
  • Internship, co-op, military, or academic project experience related to software development or systems engineering.
  • Interest in Navy combat systems, defense technologies, or military training systems.
