About The Position

The Junior Compliance Consultant plays an important role in helping retirement plans remain compliant with IRS regulations and industry requirements. Working closely with Compliance Consultants and Coordinators, you'll support a portfolio of retirement plans by performing compliance reviews, preparing required filings, and assisting with plan administration activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with details, and learning the technical side of retirement plans. You'll gain exposure to plan design, compliance testing, and regulatory requirements while building a strong foundation for future growth within the organization. As your knowledge and experience grow, you'll have opportunities to advance into more client-facing responsibilities and manage your own group of retirement plan clients.

Requirements

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in financial services preferred.
  • ASPPA Retirement Plan Fundamentals (RPF) certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong technical aptitude.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for providing outstanding service.

Responsibilities

  • Support Compliance Consultants and Coordinators with administrative and compliance-related functions for an assigned client group of approximately 150 to 200 retirement plans.
  • Perform compliance testing and review plan and participant limits to ensure adherence to IRS regulations.
  • Reconcile retirement plan contributions and identify discrepancies as needed.
  • Calculate employer contributions and prepare supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and file annual IRS-required forms and regulatory reports.
  • Assist with the preparation of retirement plan documents, amendments, and related compliance materials.
  • Review and approve participant distribution and loan requests in accordance with plan provisions and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide backup support for incoming client and participant calls, delivering exceptional customer service and timely assistance.
  • Collaborate with internal team members to help ensure accurate and efficient plan administration.
