About The Position

The Junior Buyer will be responsible for developing and implementing inventory control procedures, monitoring inventory levels, and working closely with various departments to ensure accurate inventory records. This role involves vendor management, purchase order issuance, and identifying opportunities for process improvement and cost savings within inventory management. The Junior Buyer will also collaborate with the Storeroom Supervisor to ensure receipt and inventory accuracy and manage new storeroom items in the IFS system.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, procurement or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with inventory management software and systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to inventory management, such as SOX

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures to ensure accurate tracking of inventory levels and transactions
  • Monitor inventory levels and usage patterns to ensure that inventory is maintained at optimal levels
  • Work closely with production, purchasing, and accounting departments to reconcile inventory records and identify discrepancies
  • Prepare inventory reports and analysis, including inventory turnover, stock-out rates, and obsolete inventory level
  • Perform regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods
  • Work closely with Procurement Coordinators and the Receiving Teams
  • Issue POs for approved Requisitions as needed to support Purchasing Coordinators
  • Work with vendors/suppliers on competitive quotes
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings in inventory management
  • Ensure compliance with all inventory-related regulatory requirements and standards
  • Collaborate with Storeroom Supervisor to ensure receipts and inventory accuracy
  • Set up new storeroom items in IFS systems
