About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Bookkeeper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing general ledger entries, maintaining the financial ledger, inputting financial transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, and performing reconciliations. This role requires strong technical skills in accounting software and MS Excel, excellent attention to detail, and good time management. The position is located in Markham and offers a collaborative team environment with opportunities for professional growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) years of bookkeeping experience in a computerized accounting environment.
  • Experience in Mortgage and Lending Finance is a strong asset.
  • Highly computer-literate with proficient knowledge of MS Excel and cloud financial software Xero.
  • Fast and accurate data entry, keen attention to detail, and excellent time management.
  • An assertive self-starter with a positive attitude and strong communication skills; Dedicated to continuous improvement of self and team. Tech savvy and ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities

  • Complete required G/L entries, including posting sub ledger details into the general ledger.
  • Regularly update, analyze, and maintain the overarching financial ledger.
  • Accurately input day-to-day financial transactions into accounting software (Xero) and MS Excel.
  • Reconcile and manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) pipelines.
  • Conduct monthly account and bank reconciliations to ensure logged funded deals and financial data matches bank statements for group entities.
  • Manage vendor invoices and payment schedule, handle corporate card transactions, and audit expense receipts.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth and timely collection of financial information.
  • Contribute to improving process efficiency and assist with special projects as necessary.
