About The Position

As an engineer at Bask, you will work directly with the CEO and CTO to build and design software infrastructure for telehealth. The company is expanding its software engineering team and seeks entrepreneurial, builder-led engineers who take end-to-end ownership and care about improving healthcare delivery. The platform is a serverless, multi-tenant monorepo using Next.js and React on the front end, tRPC and Prisma on the back end, SST for deployment, and TypeScript throughout. Engineers can take changes from the user interface through the API to the database without team handoffs. Engineering at Bask Health is AI-first. The workflow begins with understanding the problem, then uses tools such as Claude and Cursor to investigate, plan, and build. Work is tested on staging with realistic data, released to production, tested with patients and care teams, and refined. The role involves building high-quality product experiences, working across the stack, prototyping with users, creating scalable patterns, making automation transparent and trustworthy, and championing performance, accessibility, reliability, and shared AI-native workflows.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience.
  • Knowledge or experience with SST.
  • Knowledge or experience with Drizzle.
  • Knowledge or experience with Node.
  • Knowledge or experience with AWS services such as SQS, EventBridge, and Lambda.
  • Knowledge or experience with SQL databases.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge or experience in database schema design.

  • Ideal candidates are full-stack generalists with experience taking a product from 0 to 1.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong experience building paid products and services is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and ship high-quality product experiences, owning key surfaces from concept through production.
  • Write elegant, well-tested code and contribute to maintaining the test suite.
  • Work across the stack, taking features from the interface through the API to the database without handoffs.
  • Use Cursor and Claude Code as collaborators to investigate, plan, scaffold, implement, and refactor software, applying independent judgment to meet healthcare quality standards.
  • Prototype and validate quickly with real patients and care teams, refining work based on feedback, particularly in sensitive clinical contexts.
  • Translate product needs into reusable, well-architected patterns that support scale and make future features faster to ship.
  • Build systems that clearly communicate what AI and automation are doing for patients and providers, with transparency, reliability, and thoughtful defaults.
  • Champion performance, accessibility, and reliability; collaborate with the team to debug, optimize, and improve quality.
  • Document effective AI prompts, patterns, and workflows so the team can work faster without compromising patient outcomes.
  • Work independently and own entire projects or large areas of the codebase.
