About The Position

Junior Area Manager Crescent Cleaning Company is a Building Services Contractor conducting janitorial business in Chicagoland since 1971. ISSA CIMS Certified. Currently servicing Commercial Office, Special Event Buildings, Museums, Education, HOA, and Medical Office properties with over 400 team members. The Junior Area Manager will support Crescent Cleaning Company’s Operations Team in maintaining exceptional service across a diverse portfolio of commercial properties throughout the Chicagoland area. This position works closely with Area Managers, Project Managers, and Company Leadership to ensure quality standards, employee support, client satisfaction, and operational excellence. You will gain hands-on experience in employee development, quality control, client relations, staffing, scheduling, safety, and special projects while helping support some of Chicago’s premier commercial properties.

Requirements

  • Ability to use and understand computer programs and apps which are necessary for daily operations.
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently both in writing and verbally.
  • Understanding how janitorial tools/equipment work or the ability and willingness to learn and gain understanding quickly.
  • Ability to be on your feet for long hours per day.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of janitorial, hospitality, facilities, or building services experience preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience is a plus but not required.
  • Friendly, empathetic nature with abilities to multi-task and handle periods of high stress and chaotic environments.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential.
  • Have critical eye on high level cleaning expectations.
  • Exposure to scheduling and workforce planning is preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support Crescent Cleaning Company’s Operations Team in maintaining exceptional service across a diverse portfolio of commercial properties throughout the Chicagoland area.
  • Work closely with Area Managers, Project Managers, and Company Leadership to ensure quality standards, employee support, client satisfaction, and operational excellence.
  • Gain hands-on experience in employee development, quality control, client relations, staffing, scheduling, safety, and special projects.
  • Learn client relations, workforce management, inspections, quality assurance, staffing, scheduling, and operational best practices.
  • Perform 75% of the day on the field touring, supporting, training, and inspecting.
  • Perform 25% administrative/desk work.
  • Provide payroll & timekeeping support and compliance enforcement.
  • Adhere to and enforce all Building Companies and Company policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Administer corrective action and discipline as warranted by team members and as may be directed by Company HR or Company leadership.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with Company leadership and multiple department meetings with building managers, etc.
  • Conduct job site inspections using Company App.
  • Manage supply ordering & mailing inventory records.
  • Maintain equipment preventative maintenance & repair.
  • Conduct interviewing, initiation, and training of new hires.
  • Assist and be onsite during high profile events as required.
  • Respond accordingly to emergencies as they arise.
