Junior Analyst - Data Monitoring

About The Position

The Junior Analyst will work closely with performance analysis teams to build an understanding of financial markets, gain exposure to the private markets industry, develop investment analysis skills, and assist with portfolio monitoring and reporting. The role contributes to StepStone’s Global Data and Risk Operations (DARO) 24-hour global operations model, which spans offices in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week for 16 weeks, with the possibility of extension for additional 16-week periods. The work schedule is hybrid, with three days per week in the office. The hourly salary is $27.50.

Requirements

Relevant coursework or work experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; interviews are conducted in English.
A positive, team-oriented attitude.
Dynamic, hard-working, and self-starter approach.
Significant experience with Microsoft Excel.
Basic knowledge of accounting and working knowledge of the financial services industry.
Interest in global financial markets and private markets.
Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Work closely with performance analysis teams to support portfolio monitoring and reporting efforts.
Contribute to and support the Global DARO 24-hour global operations model.
Conduct individual and cross-sectional portfolio analysis focused on market trends by strategy, sector, and geography.
Review and reconcile quarterly reports, capital account information, and cash flow activity for monitored funds.
Provide information used in preparing client reports.
Manage data requests and reporting deadlines for assigned clients.
Participate in skill-development workshops and learning opportunities.
