The Mechanical Licensing Collective (The MLC) is a nonprofit organization designated by the U.S. Copyright Office to administer the blanket mechanical license for eligible digital music services in the United States. In simple terms, The MLC helps ensure songwriters, composers, music publishers, and rights holders are paid royalties when their music is streamed or used by services like streaming platforms and digital providers. The organization collects and processes music usage data, matches recordings to the correct musical works and owners, distributes royalties, and supports transparency within the digital music ecosystem. The MLC operates at the intersection of music, technology, data, finance, and copyright law. In this role, you are responsible for supporting the Finance team’s royalty reviews, reporting and reconciling for DSPs and Members of The MLC. You are a self-starter with strong project management skills and a keen attention to detail. You love to solve problems, big and small, you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and you approach every challenge head-on.
