About The Position

The College of Ag and Natural Resources (ANR) IT Technology Services delivers primary leadership and comprehensive IT support for the CANR through a collaborative shared services model. This position reports to the Service Desk Manager and will perform the following duties: collaborate with university stakeholders to design purchase, configure, and distribute technology assets manage assets throughout their lifecycle deliver high-quality workstation and software support administer employee accounts for access management. Working alongside departmental and university IT teams, ANR IT provides technology resources that advance MSU’s mission of education, research, and community engagement. We are seeking talented individuals to join our team and support the daily technology needs of the College. In this front-line role, you will provide hands-on and remote assistance to faculty and staff, ensuring reliable and effective IT services. As an ANR IT team member, you will help improve processes, coordinate and guide team activities, triage incoming requests, and manage escalations. Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in IT Desktop Field/Service Desk Support.
  • Demonstrate commitment to customer service and effective communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with the ability to independently resolve technical issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting and managing Windows, macOS, iOS/iPadOS, and Android devices in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience with endpoint and device management solutions, including Microsoft Intune, Jamf, MECM/SCCM, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience using IT service management systems such as TeamDynamix, ServiceNow, or similar tools.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, identity and access management, and endpoint security best practices.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise networking concepts, including wired and wireless connectivity, VPNs, firewalls, routing, and switching.
  • Experience supporting virtual desktop and remote computing environments.
  • Experience evaluating, implementing, and supporting technology solutions to meet organizational needs.
  • Experience participating in technical projects, including planning, implementation, documentation, and coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
