About The Position

The Junior Analyst at Blue Umbrella is a foundational member of the Due Diligence team, responsible for conducting baseline research and preparing summary reports for cases and projects. The role requires high-quality, timely research within a collaborative team framework. Blue Umbrella, acquired by AML RightSource, is a technology-enabled services company specializing in third-party compliance technologies and due diligence research. AML RightSource is a leading provider of managed services and advisory focused on financial crime compliance, including anti-money laundering and third-party compliance.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills with knowledge in open-source and database research (Internet, government databases, media databases).
  • Language proficiency in Chinese (Traditional and Simplified) and English, with the ability to consolidate Chinese and English research into English summary reports.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and quality work under tight deadlines and minimal supervision.
  • Excellence in understanding source information and summarizing it logically and concisely into a report.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Well-organized and able to work accurately and effectively under pressure.
  • Good team player with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Quick learner with demonstrated initiative, diligence, and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree holder.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze research information using various sources like government databases, public disclosures, the Internet, and proprietary databases.
  • Perform qualitative background research on requested companies, individuals, and their associates according to SOPs.
  • Identify relevant risks, discrepancies, and information of client interest.
  • Accurately summarize collected information into an English summary report, adhering to in-house style, and assist in its refinement.
  • Perform due diligence reviews for purposes such as AML/KYC compliance and third-party management.
  • Embrace continuous changes and challenges, handling ad hoc projects and assignments, often under tight deadlines.
