For this position, we are seeking a talented individual to join AIS as a Infrastructure Engineer. As your initial project assignment, you will support the unique needs of our client as a Junior Amazon Web Services Cloud Administrator. AIS is supporting federal customer with a program focused on architecture and infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of relevant experience supporting enterprise cloud and/or infrastructure environments.
  • Certifications: IAT-2, 1 or more cloud certifications.
  • Active Secret clearance (or higher).
  • Experience working in regulated environments and following secure engineering / documentation practices.
  • Ability to manage routing/switching and network security.
  • Ability to manage multi‑OS environments.
  • Ability to manage virtualization (e.g., VMware/Hyper‑V).
  • Ability to manage core cloud services.
  • Ability to manage release of IaC via pipelines.
  • Ability to automate common admin tasks.
  • Ability to plan and execute upgrades/migrations.
  • Ability to configure network devices and services.
  • Ability to respond to incidents.
  • Ability to monitor performance.
  • Ability to manage resources.
  • Ability to implement proactive monitoring.
  • Ability to produce accurate documentation.
  • Ability to improve processes.
  • Ability to work independently within project scope.
  • Ability to partner with peer teams.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains smooth operation of different cloud-based systems, including coordination with network administrators.
  • Sets up administrator and service accounts, maintains system documentation for cloud infrastructure and tenant inventory, tunes system performance, installs system wide software and allocates mass storage space.
  • Respond to large-scale events involving instantiation of virtual resources such VMs and storage.
  • Fix critical software and system failures.
  • Propose, drive and implement technical solutions for automation, efficiency and scalability.
  • Develop/improve tools, reports, and processes to monitor the health of cloud environment.
