About The Position

Mariner Innovations is building an AI enablement function that connects large language models to enterprise systems through agentic workflows, custom integrations, and intelligent data pipelines. We are seeking a Junior AI Developer to join this team and help build the integrations, automation flows, and supporting infrastructure that power our AI initiatives. This is a hands-on development role where you will work directly on production systems, building AI-powered integrations and automation solutions that support real business operations. This is not a machine learning research role; instead, you will focus on making AI agents useful within business processes and enterprise systems. You will gain direct exposure to agentic AI architecture while working alongside the team leading Mariner's AI transformation strategy.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Working knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar modern programming languages, with basic familiarity in Python
  • Experience working with REST APIs and JSON data structures
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot independently and seek guidance when needed
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with workflow automation or integration platforms such as n8n, Zapier, Power Automate, or similar tools is considered an asset
  • Familiarity with LLM APIs or AI development tools such as OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, or similar technologies is considered an asset
  • Exposure to enterprise platforms such as SharePoint, Salesforce, PSA, or ERP systems is considered an asset
  • Understanding of data indexing, search technologies, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) concepts is preferred.
  • Experience with Docker, Git, CI/CD pipelines, or related development tools is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Build and extend tools on our Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, a TypeScript-based integration layer that connects AI assistants to enterprise platforms such as Kantata OX, SharePoint, and Salesforce
  • Design and implement workflow automations in n8n, connecting AI agents to business processes including project delivery tracking, resource allocation, and document management
  • Contribute to our data architecture layer using Azure AI Search and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) patterns to unify information across multiple enterprise systems
  • Develop integrations and automation solutions that enable AI-powered workflows throughout the organization
  • Write clear technical documentation for the tools, integrations, and workflows you create
  • Participate in testing integrations against live data and help maintain platform reliability and performance
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues, improve existing solutions, and support ongoing AI enablement initiatives
