About The Position

HouseMax Funding, a private hard money lender serving real estate investors, builders, and developers, is seeking a Junior AI Application Developer to work with leadership to turn ideas into AI-powered applications, automations, and internal tools. This is a hands-on, AI-assisted development role focused on moving quickly from ideas to prototypes and working solutions. The company emphasizes demonstrated building ability, learning speed, and problem-solving over years of experience. The developer will use natural-language prompting and AI-assisted coding tools to generate, modify, test, troubleshoot, and improve code. The role includes building AI-powered workflows and applications, connecting software to APIs, databases, company systems, and AI models, experimenting with emerging AI technologies, and turning successful prototypes into reliable, maintainable solutions. The developer must protect sensitive company, employee, and customer information throughout development. This is a full-time, office-based position in Austin, Texas. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work as duties require. Most work is performed indoors, though some duties involve brief outdoor exposure to seasonal weather. Travel is up to 5% of the time.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience building applications, websites, automations, or technical projects.
Familiarity with AI-assisted coding and vibe-coding tools.
Basic knowledge of Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar languages.
Understanding of APIs, databases, GitHub, and web applications.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to learn unfamiliar technology quickly.
Comfort experimenting and working from an idea rather than a detailed technical specification.
Ability to collaborate directly with company leadership.
