About The Position

Northern Roads Auto Group is seeking a Junior Accountant to join their Head Office team. This full-time position offers a compensation of $22.00 - $25.00 per hour, based on education and experience. The role involves processing accounts payable and receivable, managing daily cash flow, reconciling balance sheets and ledgers, and supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related program.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Comfortable using technology and interested in AI tools to improve efficiency.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willing to work flexible hours during month-end and year-end.
  • Valid G driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within the automotive industry.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous accounting experience is considered an asset.
  • Previous dealership accounting and PBS (or other DMS) experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable including coding, posting, payment preparation, reconciliations, and vendor inquiries.
  • Process accounts receivable including invoicing, collections, cash applications, and account reconciliations.
  • Receipt vehicle sale down payments and post transactions within our Dealer Management System (DMS).
  • Balance and maintain daily cash flow for sales, service, and parts.
  • Scan, organize, and post service repair orders (ROs) and accounting documents.
  • Prepare and reconcile assigned balance sheet schedules.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations across multiple companies.
  • Prepare lien payout payments and complete bank runs as required.
  • Maintain customer and vendor records while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
  • Organize, scan, and file financial documents.
  • Assist with annual audits, special projects, SOP development, and AI-assisted process improvements.
  • Other accounting responsibilities as assigned.
