About The Position

Reporting to the Controller, the Junior Accountant is an exciting opportunity to launch your career in a fast-paced sports and entertainment environment. As a member of the Finance team, you'll play a role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations by processing and monitoring a high volume of transactions while gaining valuable hands-on experience. This role offers continuous learning and the opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment. This full-time, permanent role has an annual salary range of $45,000 to $48,800, with 100% employer-paid benefits. The final compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate's experience and qualifications. This is a replacement position and offers flexibility to work in a hybrid work arrangement.

Requirements

  • A degree or college diploma in accounting or related field.
  • 0-2 years of accounting experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong ability to work within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Highly organized with outstanding administrative and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in bank reconciliations and accounts payable considered an asset.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Great-Plains and NetSuite is considered an asset.
  • Working towards CPA designation considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Record daily bank transactions and complete bank reconciliations for multiple entities.
  • Complete various accounts payable tasks including processes invoices, expense reports, purchase requisitions, and coordinating approvals.
  • Manage the accounts payable and accounting inboxes by responding to inquiries, uploading invoices and examining customer statements.
  • Process credit card transactions, authorizations and analyze statements.
  • Verify that G/L transactions are accurate, in line with budget, and comply with financial policies and procedures.
  • Provide timely responses to and cultivate positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with year-end external audits.
  • Perform other duties as required.
