About The Position
The Junior Accountant is responsible for full cycle accounting, daily cash management, account reconciliations, and a variety of accounting related tasks. This role reports to the Accounting Manager for Doman Treated Wood.
Requirements
- Excellent Excel skills
- Ability to manage time efficiently and work well under tight reporting deadlines
- Highly detail oriented and organized
- Open to learning about full cycle accounting in a publicly traded company
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada without sponsorship.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of computerized accounting is an asset
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly variance analysis
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
- Assist with month-end close under tight reporting deadlines
- Maintaining fixed assets continuity schedule
- Verify general ledger coding and approvals
- Participating in daily cash management
- Maintain Finance department filing system
