About The Position

BDO's Ottawa office is seeking Bilingual Junior Accountants to join their Assurance team, with a start date in January 2027. This is a new role within the firm. The position emphasizes utilizing technical knowledge for work projects, preparing financial statements and working papers according to regulatory standards, gathering evidence for engagements, and building positive client relationships. The role also involves participating in business development and identifying new opportunities with existing clients, as well as maintaining effective communication with team members regarding progress and issues.

Requirements

Completed undergraduate degree or diploma and the necessary CPA pre-requisites
Desire to provide outstanding client service and a commitment to teamwork
Proven leadership skill and can take initiative to seek understanding
Strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills
Fluency in both English and French is required

Responsibilities

Efficiently utilize technical knowledge from courses to carry out work projects and assignments
Prepare and complete working papers, financial statements, and notice to reader engagements per regulatory standards
Gather evidence for Assurance and Accounting engagements
Build positive working relationships with clients and effectively respond to request and suggestions
Participate in business development initiatives and identify new business opportunities with existing clients
Effectively communicate with team members regarding progress updates and issues on an ongoing basis
