About The Position

The Julian Euell Future Faculty Fellowship (JEFFF) is a pre-doctoral fellowship offered by the Provost Office at Ithaca College in partnership with the Department of Politics. It is designed for advanced doctoral candidates who have expertise in International Relations, broadly construed, and are looking to gain meaningful teaching experience and mentorship as they complete their dissertations. Fellows will teach one course per semester, engage in scholarly forums, develop pedagogical skills, and receive professional development to prepare them for successful academic careers. The fellowship is for one academic year, non-renewable, and runs from August 16, 2027, to May 31, 2028. Special consideration is given to candidates with regional expertise in East Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, and/or the Caribbean, as well as those trained in Comparative Politics whose research engages with international politics. Expertise in critical, historical, and/or ethnographic methodologies is particularly sought after. Candidates committed to minoritized communities in their teaching, service, and/or research are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited Ph.D. program in the U.S., advanced to candidacy with an approved dissertation proposal by August 15, 2027, and be in the last year of dissertation writing.
