The AMS Judicial Committee is the ultimate adjudicating body of the Alma Mater Society and responsible for hearing cases related to: Level I Non-Academic Misconduct, Policy Infringement, Disputes on the ruling of the Speaker of Assembly, and Elections. The Judicial Committee Chair oversees and chairs all meetings of the Judicial Committee, to ensure that they follow duly established procedure. The Judicial Committee is a non-voting member of all hearings, and responsible for releasing a summary of the decision within 72 hours (about 3 days) of the hearing date. While the Judicial Committee Chair reports administratively to the Secretariat and Judicial Affairs Office, the AMS Judicial Committee remains independent from the AMS. The Judicial Committee Chair acts as an advisor to the Judicial Affairs Office where needed to ensure the pillars of the judicial branch are upheld.
