About The Position

The position is located in the Fiscal Office, Cashiering/Procurement Section of the Second Circuit and provides fiscal, cashiering, accounts receivable, disbursement, procurement, and accounts payable support. Duties include receiving, collecting, recording, and reconciling court payments, including fines, fees, bail, and other monies; maintaining accurate financial and court records; reviewing court orders and judgments to ensure accurate accounting records; preparing refunds and other authorized disbursements; and assisting the public with payment and procedural inquiries. Additional responsibilities include preparing purchase documents, obtaining vendor quotes, processing invoices and payments, coordinating travel reimbursements, and maintaining fiscal records in accordance with applicable laws, court orders, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of general clerical work experience
  • Six (6) months of work experience in a court, legal, criminal justice, law enforcement, or corrections setting, which included the examining, preparation and/or processing of legal forms and documents
  • Ability to type 40 net words per minute
