About The Position

This fast-paced position ensures the production of a clear and understandable record of court proceedings by monitoring electronic recording equipment, maintaining detailed log notes, and promoting proper courtroom decorum. The incumbent will prepare the courtroom for daily hearings by setting up, organizing, and maintaining the space, including operating and testing equipment, and troubleshooting any malfunctions. To facilitate the timeliness of hearings, the incumbent will gather parties, call for in-custody defendants, place calls for telephonic hearings, and relay information to the judge or judicial assistant. Additionally, the role involves administering oaths and distributing temporary orders, pre-sentence orders, and other required paperwork. Responsibilities include the care and maintenance of exhibits, ensuring they are marked, listed, accounted for, and stored properly. When not in court, duties may include assisting other court departments and performing other tasks as assigned by the Clerk of Court. This position will also serve as backup for evening, weekend, and holiday clerks, work overtime when necessary, and assist in training new employees.
