About The Position

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of safety programs by working closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and mitigate hazards throughout the system lifecycle. This role requires direct application of MIL-STD-882E principles to assist in conducting and documenting a variety of hazard analyses, to include developing and tracking mitigation measures according to the system safety design order of precedence. Development of safety documentation including Safety Assessment Reports, risk assessments, and safety incident root cause analysis required to functionally support the safety of product portfolio.

Requirements

  • US citizen
  • Resident near Huntsville, AL, or willing to relocate
  • Bachelor's degree (or Master's) in Engineering (systems or safety) discipline
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience
  • Basic knowledge of safety principles, regulations, and practices
  • Experience carrying out hazard mitigation techniques
  • Experience conducting risk analysis on weapons systems
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office products
  • Able to think independently and be self-motivated
  • Proven organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and support varied assignments
  • Secret security clearance

  • Experience with application of system safety policies within programs using agile software development
  • Experience with application of system safety policies within programs using Model Based System Engineering
  • Experience with application of system safety policies within programs using Air and Missile Defense systems
  • Experience with JIRA/Confluence
  • Experience with MBSE tools (Cameo/MagicDraw)
