About The Position

KBR's National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to customers in the intelligence and national security communities. This position offers the opportunity to have a profound impact on the country’s most critical role – protecting national security. The role is ideal for someone early in their career who wants hands-on experience developing applications while also learning how data can drive business decisions. The engineer will work with analysts and stakeholders to build software features, support reporting needs, and help improve internal processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field and 2 years experience
• Active TS/SCI with polygraph
• Eagerness to learn and grow
• Positive attitude and willingness to ask questions
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Interest in both software development and data-driven decision making
• Basic understanding of programming languages such as: Python, JavaScript, Java or C#
• Basic familiarity with databases and SQL
• Basic understanding of APIs and web applications
• Familiarity with Git/version control
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Internship, academic, or personal project experience
• Basic cloud platform exposure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
• Basic understanding of Agile/Scrum environments

Nice To Haves

• An interest in Data Science/Analytics is a plus.
• Basic exposure to data visualization or analytics tools is a plus: Power BI, Tableau, Excel

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining software applications
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Support bug fixes, troubleshooting, and application improvements
• Help gather and organize data from multiple systems
• Assist with reports, dashboards, and basic analytics projects
• Collaborate with team members on technical and business requirements
• Participate in code reviews and team meetings
• Learn and apply modern development and analytics best practices
