About The Position

UT Southwestern is seeking a Jr. Researcher to join their Surgery group. This role will focus on the development of computational models for patients with congenital heart disease and borderline size ventricles undergoing complex biventricular repair. The goal is to predict the short-term risk of ventricle failure after repair. The candidate will also contribute to scientific presentations and publications.

Responsibilities

  • Development of computational models for patients with congenital heart disease and borderline size ventricles undergoing complex biventricular repair.
  • Specific implementations within the OpenSource library PhysioBlocks (for biomechanical computational modeling) related to patients with borderline size ventricles (including e.g., representation of double-outlet right ventricle; double-inlet left ventricle; Glenn connection; etc).
  • Predict the potential short-term risk of the failure of the borderline-size ventricle after the biventricular repair using computational models.
  • Contribute to scientific presentations and publications in scientific journals.
