Candidate will be working on development of computational models for the group of patients with single-ventricle heart disease. Specifically, the following methods will be advanced: i) modeling of flow in large vessels when interacting with cardiovascular MRI data, ii) “in silico” (by computations) optimization of geometry in the total cavopulmonary connection, and iii) modeling of whole closed-loop simulations for the patients with single-ventricle heart disease and Fontan circulation. Specific implementations within the OpenSource library PhysioBlocks (for biomechanical computational modeling) related to the patients with the single-ventricle heart disease and Fontan circulation; closed-loop circulation model. The candidate will also contribute to scientific presentations and publications in scientific journals. This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
