About The Position

The Jr Loan Officer is responsible for selling loan products offered by Newrez. This role involves contacting prospective clients, developing and maintaining referral sources through in-person calls on real estate agents and financial advisors, and engaging in marketing activities to generate borrower leads. The position requires meeting monthly personal production goals, taking mortgage loan applications, preparing loan proposals, and determining consumer needs to offer appropriate products. The Jr Loan Officer must originate loans that comply with program guidelines, provide excellent customer service, and promptly address all customer inquiries. They are responsible for obtaining necessary documentation such as credit reports, income verification, and appraisals, analyzing this information, and assisting applicants with any issues that arise during the loan process. Maintaining compliance with industry regulations and the company's Code of Conduct is essential. The role also includes staying informed about industry trends, attending meetings and training, and performing other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High-school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must qualify for and obtain state licensure in the states where the company does business.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Ability to quickly connect with people in an outgoing, friendly manner.
  • Persuasive, selling communication skills.
  • Strong sense of responsibility for completing work quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to handle faster-than-average pace of activities.
  • Detail-orientation with efficient focus on work activities.
  • Careful decision-making skill with ability to avoid mistakes.
  • Ability to delegate in a positive style with thorough follow up skills.
  • Excellent oral, written, listening, and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Employees are required to have smart phones that meet Company security standards with the ability to install apps such as Microsoft Authenticator.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) year college degree preferred.
  • 2-year mortgage origination experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Contact prospective clients to develop and maintain referral sources.
  • Make in-person calls on real estate agents, financial advisors and other potential referral sources to develop borrower leads.
  • Engage in marketing and promotional activities in support of your own sales.
  • Meet monthly minimum personal production goals.
  • Take mortgage loan applications and prepare effective loan proposals.
  • Determine a consumer's needs and offer the appropriate product.
  • Originate loans for appropriate amounts, rates, and terms that comply with NPF's program guidelines.
  • Provide consumers with a superior level of customer service.
  • Quickly and accurately answer all customer inquiries in a professional manner.
  • Obtain all information deemed necessary to process loan requests in a timely manner, including but not limited to credit reports, income verification, appraisals, lien searches, etc.
  • Analyze the information and provide insight where appropriate.
  • Assist applicants and solve problems that may arise between application and settlement.
  • Stay informed of developing trends in the mortgage industry.
  • Attend/assist with scheduled meetings, training sessions and courses.
  • Maintain compliance with all industry-specific federal and state licensed activity requirements and company’s Code of Conduct.
  • Ability to effectively and accurately convey information to others.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by management.
