Review construction plans, specifications, and bid documents to prepare detailed project estimates. Perform quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment required for civil construction projects. Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. Develop cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor costs, and overhead. Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals within specified deadlines. Work with project managers and operations teams to review project scope and ensure estimate accuracy. Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing. Assist with value engineering and cost-saving strategies when appropriate. Track and maintain historical cost data for future estimating purposes. Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits when required.
