About The Position

The Jr. Buyer is responsible for supporting Harvest Hill’s procurement function across direct materials, including chemicals and raw materials, as well as packaging categories in a fast-paced consumer packaged goods environment. This role is part of the Procurement team partnering closely with Operations Planning, Manufacturing, Logistics, Finance, Quality, and suppliers to help ensure continuity of supply, competitive total cost, and strong service performance across the network. Key responsibilities include purchasing responsibilities, purchase order execution, supplier coordination, material forecasting, spend and pricing analysis, inventory and material visibility, reporting, and support for sourcing initiatives, innovation projects, and ongoing business needs. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to balance day-to-day purchasing execution with continuous improvement in support of procurement and supply chain objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Operations, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or materials planning experience, preferably within a manufacturing or consumer packaged goods environment.
  • Experience purchasing direct materials, including chemicals, raw materials, and packaging, is strongly preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to analyze forecasts, inventory, and purchasing data.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and shift quickly as business needs evolve.

Responsibilities

  • Manage purchasing minor ingredients and/or packaging in support of purchasing strategy
  • Develop and maintain packaging, chemical, and raw material forecasts for key suppliers and production locations.
  • Create and manage purchase orders in AX for packaging, chemicals, and raw materials to support production requirements across Harvest Hill locations.
  • Coordinate material setup requests and item master changes with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Manage day-to-day purchasing activities, including order changes, supplier communications, freight coordination, and delivery follow-up.
  • Analyze and reconcile inventories for raw ingredients, chemicals, concentrates, flavors, acidulates, and other direct materials.
  • Analyze and reconcile packaging inventories to support accurate supply planning and minimize disruptions.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce raw material and packaging scrap across the network through improved planning, purchasing execution, and inventory management.
  • Partner with national suppliers and cross-functional teams across a geographically diverse production network to support supply continuity and operational performance.
  • Develop and maintain monthly tracking tools outlining forecast submission timelines and supplier requirements.
  • Develop, update, and publish monthly forecasts for key suppliers across the Juicy Juice and SunnyD platforms.
  • Develop, update, and publish raw material, chemical, and packaging forecasts to support production and inventory planning.
  • Prepare and distribute raw material runout, inventory, and purchasing reports to support supply risk management and decision-making.
  • Maintain supplier, contract, and pricing records to ensure data integrity and accurate purchasing information.
  • Maintain purchase order records and related documentation with vendors and service providers.
