About The Position

As a member of the Applications Team, you will help customers achieve their business goals using Virtek solutions. You will work with application team members and the global sales teams to ensure that demonstrations, trials, and tradeshows are supported and successfully executed. This is an in-office position, where the selected candidate will be required to work out of our Waterloo, Ontario office. Virtek Vision International is a high-technology company based in Waterloo, Ontario, and is the world's leader in providing laser and vision-based projection and inspection solutions. Virtek has a dominant product position in the aerospace, prefabricated construction, and industrial fabrication markets. Virtek's solutions support manufacturers worldwide in a variety of specialized industries to assist with assembly processes. Our solutions project laser light onto a 3D work surface with high accuracy, speed, and precision for applications such as composite fiber ply layup, paint masking, placement of components or materials, quality inspection, and reverse engineering. In 2024, Virtek was acquired by AMETEK, Inc., a leading global provider of industrial technology solutions.

Requirements

  • College or University degree in a STEM field.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and process.
  • Proactive planning and follow through.
  • Experience with CAD programs like SolidWorks.
  • Software programming or scripting experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to read technical documentation such as schematics and manufacturing drawings.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work at heights ranging from 1.6-15m.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to work with hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Remote Product Demonstrations on Virtek Laser Projection Systems.
  • Work with Global Sales Team to provide best in class product presentations and technical reviews.
  • Support tradeshows and onsite customer demonstrations to ensure equipment is installed and working properly.
  • Manage Application Team inventory, ensuring that equipment is organized, tracked, calibrated, tested and otherwise prepared for customer demonstrations and tradeshows.
  • Conceptualize, design, and coordinate manufacturing of demonstration tools and other equipment to support applications initiatives.
  • Support marketing initiatives, such as video and other media creation.
  • Maintain proper reporting and data entry within company systems.
  • Other administrative and support activities required.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the global team.
