About The Position

New Horizon Co-op is hiring a Journeyperson Scratch Baker at our Trade Ridge Food Store in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Co-op does business differently. Requirements

Excellent communication and customer service skills
Red Seal Journeyperson Baker Certification (or equivalent) required
Minimum 2–3 years of professional baking experience in a commercial or retail setting
Strong understanding of baking techniques, ingredient functions, and food safety regulations
Comfortable with physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50lbs
Available to work early mornings on weekdays and weekends

Responsibilities

Provide an excellent customer experience
Prepare, mix, and bake a variety of products including breads, rolls, buns, pastries, cookies, and specialty items according to established recipes
Operate commercial bakery equipment including mixers, proofers, ovens, and slicers safely and efficiently.
Monitor product quality, freshness, and consistency throughout the baking process.
Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment, including daily sanitation of bakery areas.
Rotate inventory and remove outdated or unsellable products to minimize waste.
Perform additional duties as required
