About The Position

Shermco Canada is looking for a driven, safety-focused Journeyperson Electrician (Commissioning) to join our Saskatchewan Electrical Services team on the BHP Jansen Project. Requirements

  • Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyperson Electrician Certificate required.
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract required.

Nice To Haves

  • Commissioning experience with electrical systems considered a strong asset.
  • Experience working in industrial and/or commercial environments preferred.
  • Industrial facility safe work qualifications or training considered an asset.
  • Industrial safety certifications and training are an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Commission electrical systems to support safe, reliable startup and operation.
  • Construct, modify, repair, and test electrical components and systems.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot low, medium, and high-voltage equipment.
  • Perform work in industrial environments, including around energized power and control equipment, while maintaining strict safety standards.
  • Mentor, coach, and support electrical apprentices and team members to ensure safe and efficient work execution.
  • Select appropriate materials and ensure installations meet Canadian Electrical Code and project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate construction, maintenance, and quality documentation.
  • Actively support Shermco’s safety culture, including proactive safety reporting, client audits/inspections, and adherence to company policies.
