About The Position

Bilton Welding and Manufacturing Ltd. in Innisfail, AB is looking for motivated, safety-conscious Journeymen Pipefitters to join their dynamic team. The role involves working on a variety of modular and package piping systems, performing precision installation, tubing, and instrumentation support in a fast-paced, high-performing environment.

Requirements

  • Valid Alberta Journeyperson certificate
  • Pipefitting experience
  • Assist in installing fittings on object to seal outlets and connect object to high-pressure air or water line, using hand tools
  • Calibrating and performing pressure tests, inspecting, and repairing lines
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English
  • Responsible for wearing all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Previous shop experience
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • At least 3 years' experience with piping modules and/or packages is an asset
  • Hydro test experience; ability to detect and locate leaks using compressed air or water pressure
  • Tubing experience is an asset
  • Experience in welding is an asset but not necessary

Responsibilities

  • Perform hydro testing on spooling and vessel packages, including identifying and repairing leaks
  • Execute bolt-up procedures on piping systems to ensure proper mechanical integrity
  • Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the type of pipe and tools to use and lay out the sequence of tasks
  • Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble, and install metal, plastic, and fiberglass pipes, valves, and fittings
  • Join pipe sections, related equipment, and secure them in position
  • Perform hydro/air tests to check systems for leaks
  • Run tubing for instrumentation when required
  • Maintain a clean work area and follow Safe Work Procedures
  • Work well in a team environment with other trades
  • Follow the schedule and complete all work promptly to meet project deadlines
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and seek ways to improve shop workflow to reduce costs
  • Maintain all tools, work area, and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Ensure all company quality standards are adhered to
