About The Position
Oshkosh AeroTech is seeking a skilled, dependable, and safety-focused Electrician for its Airport Services team at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas. The role maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical systems and equipment supporting airport operations. The electrician performs preventive maintenance, diagnoses electrical issues, and helps ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of airport infrastructure while minimizing equipment downtime and supporting continuous service. The position involves hands-on work on building systems and equipment, including electrical maintenance and repairs, troubleshooting with diagnostic tools and instruments, calculating electrical loads, and installing wiring and components. The employee documents work in the CMMS system, follows safety protocols, completes required training, and collaborates with a diverse, multicultural team. Work takes place in airport operating areas, including ramps around aircraft and confined baggage-conveyor spaces, and involves heavy equipment, vehicular traffic, and outdoor conditions.
Requirements
- Valid driver license.
- Journeyman license.
- Ability to be badged to work in secure areas of an airport.
- Availability to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as operational needs dictate.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 3 years of electrical experience.
- Ability to understand blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment.
- Proficiency in CMMS and office software, including spreadsheets, word processing, and project management.
