About The Position

Pape’ Kenworth, a premier medium and heavy-duty truck and equipment dealer in the West, is seeking a Journeyman Truck Technician / Mechanic to join their team. This role involves working on medium and heavy-duty class 7 & 8 trucks in the shop, ensuring repairs are done accurately and timely to maximize customer uptime. The technician will analyze and diagnose complex truck malfunctions or system failures, repair or rebuild various truck components, and maintain and service trucks to ensure reliability. The position requires hands-on mechanical ability, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver work that meets high standards of safety and quality. The team member will work Monday- Friday 10:30am – 7:00pm.

Requirements

3 or more years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic trouble-shooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair.
Basic computer knowledge.
Self-motivation and assertiveness.
Ability to work under little or no supervision.
Excellent communication and customer relations skills.

Nice To Haves

Kenworth Essentials certifications preferred.
Cummins and MX software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Work on medium and heavy-duty class 7 & 8 trucks in the shop ensuring repairs are done accurately and timely.
Analyze and diagnose complex truck malfunctions or system failures.
Determine the best course of action to return the truck to peak performance.
Repair or rebuild cabs, steering systems, engines, transmissions, axles, differentials, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, or air systems.
Maintain and service trucks to ensure reliability, minimize downtime, and extend the life of each vehicle.
Deliver work that meets the highest standards of safety and quality.
