About The Position

The Times Union is seeking an experienced offset journeyman pressperson to join its Albany, NY, production operation. The hired individual will work with a close-knit team responsible for maintaining and operating a state-of-the-art KBA Commander CL press that produces Times Union and numerous commercial print publications in a high-quality and cost-effective manner, seven days a week. The Times Union is the leading news organization in New York’s Capital Region, Hudson Valley and beyond, respected for its focus on local news and watchdog reporting, particularly on state government and politics. Through the Times Union Media Group, they offer innovative marketing and advertising solutions.

Requirements

5-10 years of web offset newspaper or commercial printing experience
Able to produce high-quality print results on a consistent basis
Detail oriented with a focus on meeting deadlines and customer expectations
Well-developed verbal communication skills
Fluency with computerized press controls and operator interfaces
Technical knowledge and mechanical aptitude for newspaper printing operations
High school diploma or equivalent
