About The Position

Texas Biomed is searching for a Journeyman Plumber to join our Facilities team. The successful candidate will plan and perform installation, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs on plumbing systems. This position will maintain, inspect, and certify backflow preventers per state requirements and assist with boiler repairs as needed. The role involves maintaining and repairing all plumbing components in an industrial environment, reading blueprints, performing pipefitting per drawings and instructions, repairing and replacing steam to hot water exchangers, pneumatic steam valves, radiator valves, traps, and steam and condensate pipes. It also includes removing, repairing/arranging for repair, and replacing various pumps (domestic hot water heat, chilled water, sump, sewage, lift station) and troubleshooting/repairing piping and valves to autoclaves, boilers, cage washer systems, and other equipment as needed.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Plumber certification
  • Ability to plan and perform installation, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs on plumbing systems.
  • Ability to maintain, inspect, and certify backflow preventers per state requirements.
  • Ability to assist with boiler repairs.
  • Ability to maintain and repair all plumbing components in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and perform pipefitting per drawings and instructions.
  • Ability to repair and replace steam to hot water exchangers.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and replace pneumatic steam valves, radiator valves, traps, and steam and condensate pipes.
  • Remove, repair/arrange for repair, and replace domestic hot water heat pumps, chilled water pumps, sump pumps, sewage pumps, lift station pumps, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and repair piping and valves to autoclaves, boilers, cage washer systems and other equipment as needed.
