The (USA) Journeyman Plumber, Facility Services, plays a critical role in maintaining facility operations by performing routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on plumbing systems and related equipment. The role involves coordinating work orders, managing parts and equipment, and responding promptly to emergency situations. The Journeyman Plumber collaborates with management and team members to uphold facility functionality, safety, and quality standards while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence. Requirements

  • Proven experience in plumbing and facility maintenance, including preventive maintenance and repair of equipment and fixtures.
  • Ability to diagnose issues using blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
  • Skilled in operating hand and power tools, hoists, and material handling equipment safely and effectively.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations to ensure compliance and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Strong documentation skills for maintenance activities, work orders, and expense tracking.
  • Capability to respond promptly to emergency calls and participate in on-call rotations.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with management, contractors, and coworkers.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
  • 2 years’ experience in the plumbing trade.
  • Licensed Journeyman Plumber or equivalent in good standing in the state of work.
  • License in related trade in city and/or state of work.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program
  • Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on plumbing systems, facilities, equipment, and fixtures to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and document facility conditions, identifying repair and replacement needs to prevent future issues.
  • Utilize hand and power tools to dismantle, repair, and reassemble equipment following blueprints and manuals.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and coordinate with contractors to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, parts ordering, and warranty claims while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support critical facility needs outside regular hours.
