About The Position

The Denver Post, a subsidiary of MediaNews Group, is seeking a Journeyman Platemaker to join the team. This role involves processing plates for the press, working within company safety guidelines, and establishing priorities to meet shift deadlines. The position also requires analyzing and resolving quality and workflow issues, and ensuring all imaging equipment, printers, and plate benders are functioning properly. Training on imaging software and equipment will be provided.

Requirements

Comfortable with computer-related software programs to download files, prep files, and process files for plate production
High school diploma or equivalent required
Must be able to work with chemicals, loud noise, dusty areas, and moving parts safely and wear hearing protection the entire shift
The employee is regularly required to talk and hear
The employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms
Requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
Must be available for shift work.
May be required to work various hours for coverage outside of normal business hours

Responsibilities
