About The Position

Journeyman Pipefitters are responsible for laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems on water and wastewater treatment plant construction projects, ensuring all work meets project specifications, applicable codes, and safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a registered Pipefitter apprenticeship program required for Journeyman status.
  • Minimum 4–6 years of pipefitting experience, with current Journeyman certification/card required.
  • Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, able to work independently and as part of a crew, and physically able to meet the demands of the job.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with water or wastewater treatment plant piping systems is a plus, but not required.
  • Basic familiarity with a tablet or mobile device for daily reporting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lay out, fabricate, assemble, and install piping systems (steel, PVC, ductile iron, and other materials) according to blueprints, isometric drawings, and specifications
  • Cut, thread, groove, weld, and solder pipe using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Install valves, pumps, meters, and other piping system components
  • Perform pressure testing and leak checks on installed piping systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs (piping and instrumentation diagrams), and isometric drawings
  • Coordinate with millwrights, foremen, and other trades to ensure proper sequencing of installation work
  • Troubleshoot and repair piping systems as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
