The company is seeking Journeyman Pipefitter Fabricators with a minimum of 4 years of experience for shop and site work in Freeport, TX. This is a non-exempt role that reports to the Shop Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for reading prints, making sketches and layouts from existing installed pipe spools, fabricating spools in the shop, and performing field remove and replace tasks. Local candidates are preferred as there is no per diem or relocation assistance.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Pipefitter Fabricator.
- Ability to read prints.
- Ability to make sketches and layouts from existing installed pipe spools.
- Ability to provide own tools including: tool box, pipe wrenches, crescent wrenches, level, torpedo level, square, tri square, plumb bob, channel lock, hammer, center punch, flat or regular screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, set of combination wrenches, tape, folding rule, wrap around, work gloves, striker, cutting goggles, tip cleaner, chisel, rain suit.
Responsibilities
- Lays out, fabricates, prepares and checks pipe against job specifications for assembly at the job site.
- Interprets spool sheet diagrams to determine size, shapes and angles of required pipes, pipe fittings, flanges, etc.
- Plans sequence of fabrication.
- Measures and cuts pipe.
- Cleans and prepares pipe by grinding.
- Bends and threads pipe - may operate bending machine.
- Assembles and joins pipe and pipe fittings.
- May operate hydraulic lift to relocate pipe.
- Fabricates spools in the shop.
- Performs field remove and replace.
