About The Position

A working crew member that must take direction from foreman and train and guide Apprentices and Helpers on installation, demolition of mechanical system components, and moving of material. The role involves maintaining safe working practices, taking direction on installation of duct and piping systems, and training Apprentices and Helpers on proper work practices. Responsibilities include loading, unloading, and moving materials, reading and understanding project documents, and planning efficient installation methods. The position also requires participation in the Stretch and Flex program, understanding the safe operation of tools, and communicating safety issues to the foreman.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Must have reliable transportation to travel to various jobsites
Must adhere to safety protocol
Must have extensive knowledge of construction hand tools
Must have completed an apprenticeship program
Ability to take direction and perform job with limited supervision
Ability to follow safety regulations

Nice To Haves

At least 4 years construction experience
MUST complete and pass journeyman’s test through local 421

Responsibilities

Maintain safe working practices throughout all activities.
Take direction on installation of duct and piping systems.
Ability to train and direct Apprentices and Helpers on proper work practices
Load/unload/move material such as sheet metal, piping, boxes, carts, trash, dollies, containers.
Ability to read and understand project documents such as prints and speciation’s
Plan for the most efficient method of installing duct and piping systems
Participate in the Stretch and Flex program
Understand the safe effective operation of all necessary tools
Look for and communicate any safety issues with the foreman in each work area throughout the day
