About The Position

Audubon is currently seeking a Journeyman I - (Pipe Fitter/Welding) to join their team in an Offsite Office. The Journeyman I will perform skilled carpentry work involved in construction, maintenance, and repair, and other related work as required to maintain facilities in a safe and efficient condition.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings and other structures.
  • Knowledge of pipefitter principles.
  • Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Five years' experience in the construction industry.
  • Three years' experience as a pipefitter.
  • Must be able to obtain site and Safety training certifications required for the project.
  • Construction safety practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and HSE guidelines.
  • Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively.
  • Aptitude in math and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when required.
  • Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train on proper work and safety procedures.
  • Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing.
  • Individuals must have a valid driver's license and driving record that meets Company requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Related trade school education is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs skilled, complex tasks such as layout, cutting, welding, brazing, and testing (hydro/pneumatic) of high-pressure piping systems.
  • Measures, cuts, bending, and assembling piping in the right positioning for system placement.
  • Prepare, fabricate, install, and fit pipe to specifications.
  • Install valves, hangers, supports, and flanges inside piping system according to plans and applicable specifications.
  • Perform tests to ensure the quality of the pipe and the piping systems.
  • Hoist loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipment.
  • Support Audubon Companies’ Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Perform duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety.
  • Participate in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities.
  • Identify and report hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
  • Follow safe work practices and comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
