About The Position

Audubon is currently seeking a Journeyman I - (Pipe Fitter/Welding) to join their team in an Offsite Office. The Journeyman I will perform skilled carpentry work involved in construction, maintenance, and repair, and other related work as required to maintain facilities in a safe and efficient condition.

Requirements

Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings and other structures.
Knowledge of pipefitter principles.
Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
Five years' experience in the construction industry.
Three years' experience as a pipefitter.
Must be able to obtain site and Safety training certifications required for the project.
Construction safety practices.
In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and HSE guidelines.
Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to communicate and report effectively.
Aptitude in math and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when required.
Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train on proper work and safety procedures.
Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing.
Individuals must have a valid driver's license and driving record that meets Company requirements.

Related trade school education is preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs skilled, complex tasks such as layout, cutting, welding, brazing, and testing (hydro/pneumatic) of high-pressure piping systems.
Measures, cuts, bending, and assembling piping in the right positioning for system placement.
Prepare, fabricate, install, and fit pipe to specifications.
Install valves, hangers, supports, and flanges inside piping system according to plans and applicable specifications.
Perform tests to ensure the quality of the pipe and the piping systems.
Hoist loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipment.
Support Audubon Companies’ Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
Perform duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety.
Participate in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities.
Identify and report hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
Follow safe work practices and comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
