About The Position

The Journeyman Millwright plays a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment across various facilities in the United States. This position requires a deep understanding of mechanical systems, precision in aligning and assembling components, and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues to ensure optimal equipment performance. The Journeyman Millwright collaborates closely with engineering and maintenance teams to execute scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs, minimizing downtime and enhancing operational efficiency. This role demands adherence to safety protocols and industry standards to maintain a safe working environment. Ultimately, the Journeyman Millwright contributes significantly to the reliability and longevity of machinery, supporting the overall productivity and success of the organization.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Millwright apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
  • Valid Journeyman Millwright certification or license as required by state regulations.
  • Proven experience in industrial machinery installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manuals.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rigging techniques.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in manufacturing, power generation, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Certification in welding or other related mechanical trades.
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Completion of OSHA safety training or equivalent safety certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Install, dismantle, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to blueprints, manuals, and specifications.
  • Perform precise alignment, leveling, and calibration of machinery to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety standards.
  • Diagnose mechanical failures and implement effective solutions to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Operate hand and power tools, hoisting equipment, and precision measuring instruments safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies to promote a safe work environment.
