About The Position

Requirements

  • Certified Journeyman Lineman with recognized apprenticeship completion (DOL, IBEW, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in distribution line work; transmission experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in climbing, running equipment, rigging, grounding, and energized work methods.
  • Valid Class A CDL (or ability to obtain).
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory, system operations, and utility construction standards.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
  • Commitment to safety, professionalism, and LiveSAFE’s people-first culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Transmission, substation, or EPC project experience.
  • Storm response and rapid mobilization work.
  • Experience leading small crews or mentoring apprentices.
  • Familiarity with utility client standards across investor-owned utilities, cooperatives, or municipalities.

Responsibilities

  • Construct, maintain, and repair energized and deenergized overhead and underground distribution systems.
  • Install, replace, and maintain poles, transformers, conductors, switches, and related equipment.
  • Perform Energized and De-Energized work using proper tools, PPE, and live line procedures.
  • Troubleshoot outages, identify hazards, and restore service safely and efficiently.
  • Operate bucket trucks, digger derricks, and other utility construction equipment.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, staking sheets, and system maps.
  • Lead or support crews in safe work practices, job briefings, and tailboards.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NESC, utility standards, and LiveSAFE safety protocols.
  • Respond to storm events, emergency restoration, and afterhours callouts as needed.
  • Mentor apprentices and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
