About The Position

Minoan Industrial is seeking hardworking, experienced Journeyman Industrial Painters who take pride in their work and are comfortable working in physically demanding field environments. This position is responsible for sandblasting, surface prep, and industrial coating applications on water towers, storage tanks, and other steel structures. This is a field-based role requiring travel to various project sites across the Eastern US and surrounding states.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of industrial painting, sandblasting, or protective coatings experience preferred.
  • Experience working on water tanks, structural steel, bridges, industrial facilities, or similar heavy industrial projects preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate blasting and spray-painting equipment.
  • Comfortable working at heights, outdoors, and in physically demanding conditions.
  • Strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and ability to work as part of a field crew.
  • Ability to take directions and work safely in fast-paced construction and industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with industrial safety practices and PPE requirements.
  • Must be willing and able to travel extensively.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform abrasive blasting, grinding, power tool cleaning, and surface preparation on steel structures and industrial equipment.
  • Apply industrial coatings, primers, and linings using airless spray equipment, conventional spray systems, brushes, and rollers.
  • Operate and maintain blasting pots, compressors, paint pumps, hoses, respirators, and other industrial painting equipment.
  • Set up and tear down containments, scaffolding, hoses, ventilation systems, and job site equipment.
  • Work from scaffolding, swing stages, lifts, ladders, and elevated surfaces at heights up to 200 feet.
  • Follow coating specifications, production schedules, and supervisor direction to complete work safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with rigging, moving materials, loading equipment, and general labor tasks around the project site.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, equipment, and company tools.
  • Safely handle industrial coatings, solvents, abrasive materials, and hazardous materials in accordance with company and OSHA safety standards.
  • Inspect surfaces and completed coating work to ensure quality workmanship and proper coverage.
  • Wear required PPE at all times, including respirators, fall protection, hearing protection, gloves, and protective clothing.
  • Work overtime, weekends, and extended shifts as required by project schedules and weather conditions.
  • Travel regularly to out-of-town projects and stay overnight as needed.
