About The Position

Journeyman HVAC Installers are needed to complete full heat pump system installs from start to finish. This includes removing existing gas furnaces and air conditioning equipment, executing refrigerant recovery, system evacuation, and proper charging. Installers will prep spaces, read blueprints and wiring diagrams, and ensure jobs are compliant with local building codes. A key part of the role is delivering a standout customer experience, catching quality issues, and maintaining organized vehicles and warehouse stock. Collaboration with fellow installers and the engineering team is encouraged to improve processes and raise the bar for installations.

Requirements

Solid hands-on residential HVAC install experience, including working in attics, crawlspaces, and tight or physically demanding environments
Active Maryland HVACR Journeyman License issued by the Maryland Board of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) Contractors (required)
Ability to work independently as well as working alongside a crew
EPA Section 608 Certification (required or actively in progress)
Ability to read blueprints and wiring schematics
Working knowledge of local building codes and how to stay compliant
Strong refrigerant handling skills — recovery, evacuation, and charging done right
A sharp eye for quality and a low tolerance for cutting corners
Clear, professional communication with both customers and teammates
A problem-solving mindset when installs don't go exactly as planned
Physical stamina to handle heavy equipment and work across varied conditions
Follows OSHA Electrical Standard
Follows the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) standard

Nice To Haves

Experience with heat pumps or mini-splits is a strong plus

Deliver a standout customer experience — answer questions clearly, address concerns on the spot, and leave homeowners feeling great about their decision
Catch quality issues early — yours or anyone else's — and speak up when something needs to be corrected
Maintain organized, well-stocked vehicles and warehouse as part of your daily routine
Collaborate with fellow installers and our engineering team to flag better ways of doing things and help us continuously raise the bar.
