If you’re ready to grow with us, we’d love to hear from you. About the Role We are seeking a Journeyman Engineer to join our team at our Stockton, CA bakery. As a Journeyman Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and hands‑on support to the maintenance team while ensuring equipment reliability, preventative maintenance execution, and minimal production downtime.

Requirements

  • English literacy at an elementary level
  • 3–5 years of mechanic experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with electrical troubleshooting capability
  • Ability to read, complete, and document work orders and maintenance records
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodation
  • Ability to work safely around moving mechanical parts and in wet, humid, hot, cold, and dusty environments

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical experience in food manufacturing facilities
  • GMP and HACCP certification (in‑house or equivalent)
  • Forklift (sit‑down and stand‑up) certification
  • Boom and scissor lift certification
  • Experience supporting maintenance leadership or supervisory functions

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support daily maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and production continuity
  • Assign and oversee maintenance tasks based on job complexity and mechanic skill levels
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues to prevent equipment downtime
  • Support preventative maintenance programs and ensure timely completion of work orders
  • Communicate equipment risks and maintenance needs to Production Supervisors and the Chief Engineer
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation, logs, and parts requests
  • Serve as primary backup to the Maintenance Supervisor and support special projects as assigned
