About The Position

The Electrician performs a variety of electrical tasks safely, including installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, testing, and repairing electrical systems and equipment on large commercial projects. The role requires knowledge of electrical codes, tools, equipment, materials, building maintenance procedures, and occupational hazards. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, works well in a team-oriented environment, and is comfortable working at heights, climbing ladders, and operating various lifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
3–5 years of commercial or industrial electrical maintenance experience.
Electrician's license equivalent to journeyman or above.
Knowledge of a variety of building maintenance procedures and techniques.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Skill in using hand and power tools.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Inspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain electrical systems, circuits, and equipment.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components with test equipment and hand tools, identify the cause of breakdowns, and correct problems.
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components.
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components for hazards, defects, required adjustments or repairs, and compliance with codes.
Advise management when continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
Read, interpret, and work from diagrams, blueprints, sketches, repair manuals, and schematics.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of National Electrical Codes.
Use knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in the electrical trade.
Work safely in a team-oriented environment.
Work in elevated environments, regularly climb ladders, and operate various lifts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
