About The Position

We are looking for a Journeyman Electrician with extensive experience in commercial, industrial, and multi-family electrical systems. This position requires on-site attendance, physical capabilities, and advanced knowledge of electrical systems and components. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety on every project.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician in commercial construction.
  • Ability to read and implement work from blueprints and technical diagrams.
  • Proficiency in switchgear installation, control wiring, and advanced wire-pulling methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as crawling, climbing, kneeling, bending, and balancing during the workday.
  • Ownership of Journeyman Electrician tools.
  • Must be able to attend on-site daily assignments without exception.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with low-voltage systems such as fire alarms, sound systems, and data cabling is preferred.
  • Preference for OSHA 30, Lifts and Boom certification (training available for the right candidate).
  • Hands-on experience with high-rise or data center projects.
  • Cad-welding expertise for switchgear installations.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to meet project deadlines.
  • Leadership experience for supervising apprentices and managing small teams.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial, multi-family, and industrial environments.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints and technical schematics.
  • Install wiring, lighting systems, and switchgear.
  • Perform control wiring and utilize advanced wire-pulling techniques, including the use of tuggers.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues to ensure efficient operation.
  • Inspect and service key components such as transformers and circuit breakers.
  • Supervise and mentor apprentices, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
  • Design and plan electrical systems for new construction projects.
  • Respond to emergency repair needs to minimize operational downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local electrical codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC).
