About The Position

This role involves performing electrical installation and service tasks to required specifications, including bending conduit, pulling wire, installing fixtures, devices, plates, switchgear, and branch circuits. The Journeyman Electrician will also read and interpret blueprints and layout drawings, and mentor, direct, and supervise apprentices. This is a traveling role with projects in various locations throughout the US. Candidates can live anywhere in the United States, with a preference for the Midwest and Southeast regions. All travel, housing, and per diem expenses are paid, including travel home every 3rd weekend.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least four years in the electrical trade.
Current state Electrical Journeyman license.
Valid state-issued driver's license.
Advanced to expert knowledge of electrical theory, NEC and local codes.
Ability to travel by car and plane, with overnight travel for extended periods of time.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
Advanced knowledge of hand tools, testing equipment, and other commonly used trade equipment.
Good troubleshooting, problem-solving, and diagnostics ability. Embrace quality control processes. Good attention to detail. Follow process and procedure.
Current OSHA 10 certification.

Responsibilities

Install and connect control systems, power distribution systems, electrical switchgear, including components such as switchboards, panels, load centers, motor control centers, breakers, transformers, and disconnect switches. Use multi-meters for measuring voltage, amperage, resistance, and more.
Connect branch circuits, feeders, and controls, including terminations, panels, and equipment.
Diagnose, repair and resolve problems with circuits, systems, and equipment using testing instruments, schematics, and diagrams.
Ensure all work complies with codes and safety regulations.
Perform layout for various tasks, including overhead and in-wall rough-in.
Generate complete materials lists for assigned scopes of work.
Test and troubleshoot electrical systems. Test circuit continuity for compatibility and safety.
Maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
Assist other employees as needed.
Inspect jobs upon completion for quality, safety, and cleanliness.
Maintain good working relationships with team.
Observe safe work practices and follow safety procedures. Assist team in maintaining a safe work environment. Implement safety procedures and precautions.
